Crowns
Whether a tooth is worn, cracked, misshapen, discoloured, or too broken down to be fixed with a filling, a crown can be used to restore the tooth. A crown sits over the top of a tooth, replacing the outer 1-2mm of the tooth, a little like a shell. The tooth has to be prepared, impressions are taken, and, a couple of weeks later, the crown fitted.
Veneers
These are a great long term solution to improve the appearance of your teeth and give them protection from wearing and breaking. I like to think of a Porcelain Veneer as the equivalent to a ‘false nail’ for your tooth. You can hide discolourations, fill in gaps between your teeth and give them the overall appearance of lovely straight symmetrical teeth by simply adding a layer onto the front of them.
Fillings
We use the latest evidence based adhesive techniques and tooth coloured filling materials to get you the best possible looking and functional fillings. We have a number of different types of filling materials, including a range of different shades, that we are able to use in the appropriate situation.
Root treatments
Any type of trauma to a tooth, whether this is a crack in the tooth, a knock to the tooth, or it is badly decayed or broken down, the nerve in the middle of the tooth is irritated. If it is irritated beyond its capacity to repair itself, the tooth will become infected and need a root treatment. A tooth needing a root filling may be painful, or you may have little or no feeling from the tooth. Either way, we can sort it out and get the tooth free from infection and back to its proper function.
